India's Inflation Remains at 1.13 Percent
SUN, FEB 24, 2002
After weeks of steep declines, India's inflation stood unchanged at the previous week's level of 1.13 percent in the week ended February 9, even as prices soared for vegetables, fruits, bakery products, coconut oil, groundnut oil and rice bran oil.

According to the Reserve Bank of India, inflation rate stood at close to nine percent a year ago.

Although the point-to-point change in commodity prices as measured by Wholesale Price Index stood firm, prices dipped for manufactured products due to lower demand owing to economic slowdown.
