My own calligraphy exhibition

My name is Hengxing. Now I am study in Beijing Qiushi high school, Grade 3. My major is English travel guide. English plays a considerable big pole in my daily study. Although I am very busy everyday, i still keep on practice calligraphy. Calligraphy is Chinese heritage. If I can show it to friends home and abroad in English one day. That must be quite interesting.
Recently I live up to my dream to have my own calligraphy exhibition. At the open ceremony, my teachers and classmates came to congratulate me, I am so happy for my hard work has finally paid off. When I recalled the hard time of preparing for the works, everything presents its vivid picture.
Practice is necessary to learn English well, so it is calligraphy. Patience and perseverance appear more important. In order not to disturb the routines in the school, I often burn the mid night oil on weekend. Everywhere is silence, and so is my mind. Before I wrote Xiaokai, I must make lots of charts first. These charts took me more than one hour and all the charts were to be made precisely of the same size. Then I started writing. No good charts, no good handwriting. Everything must be taken great care of at the very beginning.
It's even harder to write. Imaging to write thousands of words smaller than your little finger. At last, I can hardly stretch my fingers and my eyes blur. Sometimes a line is thick or paper is stained, I have to give up a nearly- finished piece. When I felt disappointed and wanted to give up, as long as I thought of my many years of hard work and the good wishes of parents and teachers, I encouraged myself to hold on and not to give up.
As soon as I finished one piece, my parents are the first audiences.
My calligraphy teacher has imparted me for five years. This exhibition is also one of his series teaching outcome exhibitions.
My classmates also give me a lot of support. Their opinions, whether be it criticism or praise, both encourage me. There're always some happiness and achievements to stay with my teacher and friends.
The exhibition may draw to its end but I still have a long way to go. Only through English learning and calligraphy did I realize that no pains, no gains. Perseverance leads to success. I hope all these spirits may accompany me to a fruitful life. The English language and calligraphy makes the life colorful, beautiful and meaningful.

《我的书法展》

我叫恒星，北京求实中学高三英语班学生。我的专业是英语导游，英语在我的学习中占有相当大的比重。尽管平时的学习很忙，但我一直坚持练习书法。书法是中国的国粹，如果有一天我能用英语向国内外的朋友展示自己的书法，那一定是一件很有意义的事情。
最近，我如愿举办了自己书法展。展览开幕的当天，我的同学老师都来庆祝，我的心里也很高兴，毕竟自己的付出得到了大家的承认。回想起当初准备作品的情形，还是历历在目。
学英语必须通过大量练习才能学好，练书法也使如此。耐心和毅力显得尤为重要。为了不耽误正常学习，我通常是在周末的夜里准备作品。夜里比较安静，可以使我的心也平静下来。写小楷之前要先打格，我前后费了1个多小时，直到每个小方格的尺寸都相当精确后，才开始动笔。格打不好字就写不好，开始的时候就不能有半点马虎。
写就更困难了。只有小拇指大小的字，要写上千字，写着写着手就伸不直了，眼睛也花了。有时一笔写粗了。这张就废了。快写完了滴了一滴墨，这张也废了。我也有灰心、想放弃的时候。但想到自己这么多年的努力，想到父母老师对我的期望，我就自己鼓励自己，一定要坚持下去。
每写完一幅作品，我的父母都是我的第一个观众。
我的书法老师教了我五年，这个展览是他教学成果展之一。
我的同学也给了我很大的支持。他们的意见，无论批评还是赞扬都是对我的鼓励。和老师同学们在一起的时候总有一些快乐和收获。
展览总会结束，前面的路还很长。通过学习英语和书法，我体会到了只有付出才有收获的道理，真希望这种精神能一直伴随着我。而我的生活因为有了英语和书法，一定会更加丰富和有意义。
