The tropical island is holding a food festival at the Silk Road Restaurant in Beijing's Great Wall Sheraton Hotel.

This is a traditional Sri Lankan ceremony, which symbolizes the start of a new life. The flames mark the opening of a week-long gala of the island's most representative food and will burn on until on Feb.27.

Before dinner, a mini fashion show introduces the Chinese to one of Sri Lanka's proudest accessories, the Saree. Dancers showcase another indispensable part of Sri Lankan celebrations. But even with this wonderful entertainment, guests are impatient to tuck into the big meal.

Follow the dancers' bare feet and let the sound of their anklets transport you into the world of curry and spice. Thousands of miles away from Sri Lanka, feast on the island's best dishes, presented by chefs from the country's top five-star hotel Kandalama.

The exotic food and dancing may help you feel you are in Sri Lanka for a while, but taking a real trip to the South Asian island is undoubtedly the most direct and fascinating way. This is your chance. Take part in the lucky draw and Singapore Airlines could make your dream come true.
