The traditional "Carp－lantern Dance" is an annual event in Chongqing. It's been held for hundreds of years. But every time there's something new.
Its history goes back hundreds of years. Each year during the Spring Festival, the people of Chongqing parade through the city's streets in the traditional "Carp－lantern Dance". But if the tradition never changes, the staging is always open to something novel. This year the choreography was entirely new. And the carp－lantern was made out of silk this time instead of paper. Like a fish in its element, the carp lantern wound its way through the streets of the city.
