Beijing culture week opens in Paris

    As a major part of the Chinese Culture Year in France which started last October, the Beijing Culture Week is the largest and longest overseas culture exchange that Beijing has ever organized. China's ambassador to France Zhao Jianjun and the deputy mayor of Paris are among the 300 participants for the opening ceremony.

    The opening ceremony also sees the kicking off of a photography exhibition on Beijing's history. Other programs include a parade on the famous avenue of Chams-Elysees, television communication between Beijing and Paris, a trade fair, a book show and cross-country motor rally.

    The Beijing Culture Week offers another opportunity for the French people to have a better understanding of Chinese Culture. Culture exchange between France and China continues, with the French Culture Year which will be held in China from autumn of this year.
