Vice Premier Li Keqiang has visited the first patient infected with the A/H1N1 virus in Sichuan. He later spoke at a disease prevention meeting and expressed hope that local governments would work under the direction of the Central Government to cope with the spread of the virus.

After learning the patient is now in a stable condition, Li urged doctors to continue monitoring the patient, help him fully recover, and take effective measures to prevent the disease from spreading.

The Vice Premier is concerned about the physical well-being of the doctors. Several of them had close contact with the patient and have been put into quarantine. Li Keqiang called them and thanked them for their efforts. He said the whole nation was concerned for them and hoped they would return to work soon.
