Russian President Dmitry Medvedev met visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi on Monday. Dmitry Medvedev said he was pleased with smooth development in Russia's strategic partnership with China, adding that he was looking forward to the upcoming state visit of his Chinese counterpart, Hu Jintao.

2009 marks 60 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Russia. Dmitry Medvedev says this is a good time to review the past and look ahead to the future development of bilateral relations.

Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi said that China will make every effort to meet targets set in a consensus reached between Hu Jintao and Dmitry Medvedev at the recent G20 summit in London.
