Former yellow-shirt leader shot in Thailand

The founder of Thailand's "yellow shirt" protest movement has been shot and wounded. The assassination attempt came just days after troops cracked down on rioting protesters from the rival anti-government "red-shirt" movement.

The founder of the People's Alliance for Democracy was being driven to work Friday morning when at least two men in a pickup truck ambushed his car and opened fire.
Sondhi Limthongkul was shot in the shoulder and the head. His driver was also wounded.
Sondhi is lucky to be alive.
Chaiwan Charoenchoktawee, Vajira Hospital director, said, "The condition after the operation, the patient is very well. He can speak. He can concern everything. He can eat everything. No any problem."
The government quickly moved to tighten security around Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva, who said a state of emergency imposed on Sunday in Bangkok would remain in place.
