2009 marks the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Venezuela. Xi Jinping told Chavez the two countries should seize on the historic moment and expand cooperation.

In their talks at the presidential palace, the Chinese vice president spelled out the details of Sino-Venezuelan cooperation.

The agreements range from establishment of a long-term partnership in energy to enhancing exchanges in agriculture and high-tech transfer.

On top of that, the China-Venezuela mutual fund program is being expanded.
