As a result of the protests, Thailand's foreign minister said on Sunday that an ASEAN regional summit may have to be postponed until March.

As a result of the protests, Thailand's foreign minister said on Sunday that an ASEAN regional  summit may have to be postponed until March.

He said the cabinet will make its final decision on Tuesday as to whether to go ahead with the meeting, scheduled for December 15th to 18th. He said the decision is being left up to the cabinet because a postponement will affect not only Thailand's economy, but also its image.

Thailand is the current chair of ASEAN, but political chaos there has prompted Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam to suggest postponing the summit.
