US: UN report reinforces suspicions over Syria´s nuclear ambitions

The US says a UN nuclear agency report reinforces suspicions Syria was building a reactor to produce plutonium for warheads.

Gregory Schulte is Washington's chief delegate to the International Atomic Energy Agency. During a meeting of it's 35-nation board, he noted an IAEA report concluded a building destroyed last year by Israel had features resembling a nuclear reactor.

The report says traces of unnatural uranium material were found at the site. However, it also says the evidence is not sufficient to draw a conclusion on the nature of the facility.
