Protesters clash with police in Kabul

Protesters have clashed with police after a convoy of foreign troops shot at a vehicle in Kabul, killing a civilian.

Kabul's police chief says the convoy of British troops was passing through to Jalalabad, east of the capital, on Friday, when its members fired on a civilian vehicle. He says the incident occurred due to a "misunderstanding".

The Interior Ministry says one civilian was killed and three were wounded. Angry local residents blocked the highway and later threw stones at riot police called to the scene.
