China calls on cooperation with Vietnam over South China Sea

BEIJING, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- China called on Vietnam for cooperation in the South China Sea to discover ways to address bilateral disputes over the region.

In a meeting here with visiting Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on Wednesday, Chinese President Hu Jintao proposed the two neighboring countries always keep the overall situation of the bilateral relations in mind and make efforts to strengthen bilateral efforts and properly settle the issues concerning the South China Sea. Chinese President Hu Jintao meets Finnish President

BEIJING, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao met here on Thursday morning with Finnish President Tarja Halonen who is here to attend the seventh Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) to be held on Oct. 24 to 25.
