The May Day holiday this year was reduced to three days, making way for more traditional holidays to celebrate the Qingming festival and the Dragon Boat Festival. But the box office did very brisk business thanks to the release of blockbusters "Iron Man" and "The Forbidden Kingdom".

Kungfu stars Jackie Chan and Jet Li starred together in "Forbidden Kingdom". The film premiered in China and around the globe simultaneously ahead of the May Day holiday. It's a reunion of the two action stars in the same movie, 15 years after they last starred opposite each other.
The movie tells the story of a modern American teenager who's propelled back in time to ancient China. He is charged with freeing the fabled warrior -- the Monkey King. Joining his quest are two kung fu masters played by Jackie Chan and Jet Li.
The film also stars Li Bingbing, appearing in her first Hollywood production and playing a Kungfu girl. She relished the opportunity and insisted doing all the action scenes by herself, without using a stunt double. But the most captivating scenes are still the fights between Chan and Lee. Viewers said they couldn't get enough of it.
