China: concerted efforts needed to solve nuclear issue

China is calling for continuing efforts to solve the nuclear standoff in the Korean Peninsula. That was the message from Chinese representatives at the IAEA conference in Vienna.

Chinese representative to Vienna Tang Guoqiang reiterated the necessity for all parties involved to work closer together. He said great progress has been made by the Six-Party Talks, and this should not be squandered. He urged all parties to improve cooperation to implement the consensus reached at previous rounds of talks.

Tang says as the host nation of the Six-Party Talks, China will continue to play a constructive role in resolving tensions on the Korean Peninsula.
