Fujian and Zhejiang provinces have relocated more than 460 thousand people in anticipation of Typhoon Jangmi.

In Fujian, downpours were forecast in six cities with a maximum rainfall of 100 millimeters.

The Fujian Provincial Meteorological Bureau says even though the typhoon did not make landfall in Fujian, it was a close miss. The bureau issued an orange-level warning alert for the typhoon on Monday.

Sea travel off the coast of Zhejiang was also suspended due to the storm. Fujian has also suspended all sea tours and closed harbors around the province.

The typhoon ebbed and changed its path to northeast after having landed in Yilan of Taiwan on Sunday.

As of midday on Monday, more than 150 thousand households were still without electricity because of the typhoon water service to nearly two hundred homes was also interrupted.
