DPRK, Laos seek economic cooperation

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea and Laos have agreed to foster economic cooperation, as the Laotian Prime Minister is on a goodwill visit to the country.

The 2 countries have signed an agreement to establish a joint committee for cooperation in economics, trade, science and technology. Laotian Prime Minister Bouasone Bouphavanh is accompanied by officials including his ministers of agriculture and industry.

Bouasone has held talks with DPRK Premier Kim Yong-il. Bouasone's trip will last 11 days and follows a visit by Kim to Laos in November. The two countries established diplomatic ties in 1974.
