Flood rescue efforts underway in India

A massive rescue effort continues in India's Bihar state where more than a million people are trapped by a flood.

The Kosi river burst its banks, submerging roads leading to the region. Fifteen-hundred soldiers have been sent to the area to assist. Flood waters swept away at least 44 people in Bihar. More than 60-thousand people are taking refuge in 300 relief camps. The government is sending more than 200 million US dollars to Bihar state for rescue and relief. One-hundred rescue boats, as well as high capacity air force helicopters will be also provided.
Officials in Bihar warn the worst is yet to come.
