Tensions are rising in Pakistan. In the latest, thousands of lawyers have taken to the streets and a deadly bomb attack has killed 11 people so far.

Suspected militants bombed a bus in the northwestern Pakistani city of Bannu on Thursday. The blast killed at least nine policemen and two passers-by.

It also left a massive hole in the middle of the bridge, completely destroying the vehicle.

Mohammed Ghafoor, an eyewitness said, "I was going over the bridge when a police van going the other way passed me. The explosion happened right after it drove past me and knocked me unconscious."

Islamic extremists have claimed responsibility for a number of bombings before. But it's still not clear if they were also behind Thursday's blast.
