As security personnel are now on patrol in the capital, Beijing firefighters say they have the latest technology to boost any fire fighting and rescue efforts.

And this vehicle can move both on roads and on a track. It can be driven onto a subway line when the back wheels are put down. Firemen can assess the situation from a safe distance through a camera on the truck.

According to the Beijing City Fire Department, all these vehicles will be used during the Olympics. There are also other safety gadgets, like the detector for liquid explosives. It can easily detect bottles of liquid that might be potentially dangerous.
