Getting dressed would seem to be an unlikely thing to turn into a competition, but in Kobe, Japan, you can pick up a prize for putting on a Kimono. The All-Japan Kimono Dressing Championship is aimed at preserving a vanishing skill.

These 150 women at the Kobe International Conference Center have already defeated nearly two-thousand others in qualifying rounds throughout Japan. They will now strive to take home the most coveted trophies.
The contestants get eight minutes to put on their kimonos in the semi finals. That's whittled down to six minutes in finals.

Both speed and overall elegance are judged. Their facial cosmetics and choice of accessories are also important factors to be judged.
