Two explosions on buses on the same route have killed 2 people and injured 14 others in Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan province. Yunnan police say the explosions were criminal acts.

The explosions happened on two Route 54 buses in the morning rush hour, about an hour apart. The first blast went off on West Renmin Road, while the second was at the nearby intersection of Changyuan Road and West Renmin.

The two dead have been identified as a 30-year-old woman from Mouding in Chuxiong and a 26-year-old man from Lijiang.

Injured passenger
Injured passenger are now out of life-threatening danger.

Authorities say all but one of the 14 people injured are now out of life-threatening danger. Most had inner-ear injuries and concussions, and are being treated at two hospitals.

Injured passenger, said, "I was only 5 or 6 meters away from where the explosion went off. When it happened, there were only 5 to 6 passengers on the bus. We were approaching the terminal station."

Another injured passenger, said, "I was just about to get off the bus when the explosion happened."
