Arab foreign ministers have lashed out at accusations against Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir which were made by the International Criminal Court's top prosecutor. They have described the ICC charges as unacceptable and unbalanced. Wrapping up an emergency meeting of the Arab League on Saturday, the foreign ministers adopted a draft resolution on the current dispute between Sudan and the ICC.

They said the ICC's move would undermine Sudan's sovereignty, stressing that only Sudanese courts have jurisdiction on such issues. The Cairo-based League rejected any attempt to politicize the principles of international justice, and reiterated its solidarity with Sudan to protect the country's sovereignty, unity, security and stability.
