A 70-year-old woman has given birth to twins after undergoing IVF treatment in northern India.

The boy and the girl were delivered one-month early by Caesarian section. The mother already has two daughters and five grand-children. She says she wanted a boy so he could take care of their property.

The father is 76-years old. He says he is happy to finally have a boy who would look after his daughters and the family's business after his death.

The mother maintains she was nine years old when the British left India in 1947, but she has no birth certificate to prove her age.
