A team of US cheerleaders is in China to help out Olympic cheerleading squads with their moves. The cheerleaders are training outside Beijing. They hope their dance moves will get crowds excited about the August Games.

The clock for the Beijing Olympics is ticking.

These cheerleaders have spent countless hours practicing maneuvers calculated to get a good response from the audience.

To ensure maximum impact, BOCOG has enlisted the help of cheerleaders for an US football team, the New England Patriots, to add a dash of international appeal to the performance.

The US cheerleaders have spent a week with the Chinese boys and girls, showing them the ropes.

He He, one Olympic cheerleader said "We have learned a lot. Just to smile, be passionate and energetic."

The US cheerleaders praised their Chinese counterparts for their dedication. They said teaching new moves and routines to their new friends couldn't have been easier.

Lindsay, New Englang Patriots Cheerleader said "I'm very impressed with their eagerness to learn and their ability to pick all the material we're giving them and on top of that they come in every day with a smile on their face. They are extremely friendly to us. We couldn't ask for better students."

The Chinese cheerleaders are all volunteers. They hope their enthusiasm will serve as a good introduction to China for their foreign guests.

Ma Qing, LOlympic cheerleader said "I can use my skills and do something I enjoy to show the enthusiasm of the Chinese people. At the same time, I hope the foreigners can feel the youth and energy of the Chinese girls as well as the positive power of the Chinese people."

As August 8th draws closer, the Chinese cheerleaders, now armed with new moves and warmer smiles, hope their energy will rub off on the audience, contributing to a successful Beijing Olympics.
