Vice President calls for more cooperation between Guangdong, HK & Macao

Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping has called for closer cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. Xi Jinping made the call on Saturday in Guangdong, during an inspection tour of the province.

Xi has spent the weekend in Shenzhen and Dongguan visiting communities, enterprises, harbors and institutions. He stressed the concept of scientific and harmonious development.
During his tour, Xi Jinping stressed the importance of cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. He encouraged Hong Kong-invested enterprises to overcome current market difficulties such as decreasing overseas consumption and price hikes of oil and raw materials. The vice president also asked the local government to help the enterprises surmount the difficulties.
In a meeting with provincial officials on Saturday afternoon, Xi Jinping reiterated the importance of stepping up cooperation between the three regions based on mutual benefits. He also placed a special emphasis on the service industry.
