Mongolian parliamentary parties have agreed to deal with recent riots in Ulan Bator by implementing the rule of law. President Nambariin Enkhbayar initiated the meeting of parliamentary parties on Friday.

The parties, including the Democratic Party -- agreed to charge those participating in the riots under the rule of law.

Meanwhile, the Democratic Party says it will take legal steps to ask the country's General Election Commission for a recount of ballots in some election districts. The Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party won Sunday's parliamentary elections. But supporters of the Democratic Party and other parties staged a violent protest against alleged fraud in the elections.

The Mongolian National Security Council says the situation in Ulan Bator has now calmed down and nearly 380 detainees have been released.
