Olympic torch relay concludes in Xianyang

The torch relay has reached the end of its journey through the city of Xianyang, in northwestern Shaan'xi Province. Before reaching Xianyang, the torch was in Yangling county.

The first torchbearer in Yangling was 75-year-old Lun Shan, a professor at the Chinese Academy of Engineering. A total of 95 torchbearers joined the run, which covered a 6.5-kilometer-long route.

In the afternoon, the flame moved on to the ancient city of Xianyang, where the hand-to-hand relay covered 6.9 kilometers, with 113 runners taking part.
