UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon heads for Beijing today (Tuesday) after making a stop in Tokyo. His aim is to strengthen the partnership between China and the UN.

As a permanent member of the UN Security Council, he says China makes an important contributions to the UN. But he wants more participation in international efforts to deal with the challenges of climate change, the UN's millennium development goal and the world food crisis.

The UN Chief also talked about China's preparation for the upcoming Olympic Games. He says the preparations have been extensive and the Beijing Olympics is set to become one of the most successful games ever.
