Prime minister Samak Sundarajev is facing two days of criticism as the lower house of Parliament continues its no-confidence debate. The debate is expected to last for 36 hours until midnight Wednesday.
Samak and seven of his cabinet ministers will have to step down if the no-confidence motion receives a majority of votes. But Samak's party believe they have the votes to stay in power, and are confident they can outlast demonstrators.
The no-confidence debate is being led by the opposition Democrat Party, and comes in the wake of four weeks of street protests calling for the government's resignation.
