The talks at the White House came after a flurry of trade deals between American and Vietnamese firms. Bush says they held good talks on economic, educational, environmental cooperation and past issues stemming from the Vietnam war.
Nguyen Tan Dung says he hopes to promote mutually beneficial cooperation with the US. He says the two sides have agreed to establish a new senior-level dialogue mechanism.
