Israeli PM Olmert warns Hamas not to undermine ceasefire

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has warned Hamas that it will be responsible for any violation of the upcoming ceasefire. Meanwhile, violence continues to flare in Gaza.

Olmert has accused Hamas and other terrorist organizations of harming innocent Israeli civilians. And he has suggested Israel may be forced to take action against them.

Shortly after Olmert's comment, militants in Gaza fired a rocket barrage into a southern Israeli town but no casualties were reported. Israel retaliated with two aerial strikes on northern Gaza, wounding nine Palestinian gunmen.
