Thousands of demonstrators have held another massive protest in downtown Seoul, demanding the government drop plans to resume US beef imports.

Protesters called for the agreement to be scrapped and for President Lee Myung-bak to resign. Police say some 20-thousand people joined the evening rally. It's the second night in a row of large-scale demonstrations in Seoul. A rally of some 38-thousand people on Saturday resulted in clashes with police.

President Lee has showed no signs of dropping the plan, but media reports say he is considering a shake-up of his cabinet, which would include replacing the agriculture minister.
