China willing to broaden cooperation with Slovenia in all fields

China's top political advisor, Jia Qinglin, is in the Slovenian capital Ljubljana. On Saturday, during talks with President Danilo Turk, the two hailed friendly bilateral ties and pledged to promote cooperation in all fields.

During his meeting with the Slovenian President, Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, said the two countries have kept up a regular exchange of high-level visits. Bilateral ties have also progressed smoothly since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1992.
The chairman said the Chinese government regards Slovenia as a reliable partner and is willing to broaden pragmatic cooperation in all fields. He also said that China is keen on enhancing its partnership with the European Union.
Turk said his country firmly adheres to the One-China policy and sticks to its stance on the issues of Taiwan and Tibet.
Turk highlighted the importance of a strategic partnership between China and the EU. He said as the current holder of the EU presidency, Slovenia would like to promote the further development of EU-China ties.
Jia Qinglin is scheduled to meet with Slovenia's National Council President Blaz Kavcic, and Prime Minister Janez Jansa, on Monday.
It is the third leg of Jia Qinglin's current four-nation European trip after touring Romania and Hungary. The last destination of his tour is Croatia.
