Sudan has severed relations with Chad, accusing it of supporting Darfur rebels who assaulted the capital, Khartoum.

A curfew was lifted in Khartoum but remained in effect in Omdurman, the northern gate of the capital. More than 300 rebels have been reportedly arrested.
A Sudanese government spokesman says the attack means political leaders will have to re-evaluate Khartoum's relations with Chad.
Sudanese authorities are warning residents on the Sudan-Chad border to beware of possible retaliatory attacks. UN officials say security teams in Darfur are closely monitoring developments.
