The Cairo-based organization says Qatar's Prime Minister and the head of the Arab League will head the delegation.
League Secretary General Amr Moussa says the mission will try to bring about a return to dialogue. This includes an Arab League initiative to end a political stalemate between the government and opposition.
Amr Moussa said, "This means that there is an agreement among the Lebanese political class, before these events, on the question of electing a president, and the makeup of a national unity government. What happened was a rupture after the latest events, and we want to resume this political dialogue."
