Eco tents pitch "Green" business in UK

Every year, England's Glastonbury music festival attracts thousands of music lovers from across the country. This year, one young designer has come up with a way to allow campers to maximize their enjoyment while remaining environmentally aware.

Of all the music festivals held each year in England, it's Glastonbury that is consistently ranked the most popular.

Last year's event, though, was an obvious exception.

Endless rain turned the site into a mud bath, with some thinking the conditions were more suited to hippos than hip campers. And worst still, thousands of tents were discarded afterwards, destined for landfill.

All of this inspired 24-year-old designer James Dunlop to develop an idea he called "myhab" - an environmentally-friendly tent that is waterproof. It's made from recycled plastic and cardboard.

And this unique tent will debut at British festivals this summer.

But for people on a budget, the rental fee of the eco tent could prove to be a stretch. One myhab tent for two people costs 240 pounds per festival.

But observers say the demographics of festival-goers are changing. Many are in their forties with money in the bank. They want to be green and trendy, but they also want to stay clean and dry.

And perhaps that's why Dunlop believes he could be sleeping on a potential fortune.
