The Chinese president said many Japanese people have shown their support during Beijing's preparations for the Olympic Games.

The Japanese lawmakers' league was set up last March to support the Beijing Olympics.

Hu Jintao said the league demonstrates Japanese people's friendliness to China and the efforts made by Japan to promote the Olympic spirit.

The Chinese President said the Beijing Olympic slogan, "One World, One Dream" expresses the aim of holding environmentally-friendly, high-tech and people-centered Games.

President Hu Jintao said the Chinese government and people will work hard to fulfill the Olympic commitment China has made to the world.

House of Representatives Speaker and league chairman, Yohei Kono, said the league supporting the Beijing Olympics involves all parties from the Japanese parliament, and is the largest lawmakers' league.

He expressed hope that cultural and sports exchanges between Japan and China can be expanded through the Beijing Olympics.
