Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has denied  allegations that he took illegal campaign  contributions.

The denial was made following fresh accusations that he illegally accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars from a US citizen.

Olmert has denied any wrongdoing, saying a lawyer handled his finances and that everything was legal. He says he will resign if indicted.

Olmert is a suspect in several corruption cases involving real estate deals and questionable political appointments, but has never been charged.
