BOCOG and other government officials in Guangdong saw the lighting of the torch in the front square of Huizhou Stadium on Friday morning. They later declared the torch relay underway in the city.

The first torch bearer, Chen Xiujun, received the  torch and began the Olympic torch relay from the  city's landmark stadium.
