EV71 death rate falls in Fuyang

The emergency medical team sent to the Fuyang, Anhui province by the Health Ministry says quick and correct treatment in the last two weeks has greatly reduced the death rate among young children with the disease. The team has been giving local doctors special training to deal with the disease.

22 children have now died from the EV71 virus. In the past two weeks, 5 of the 36 severely ill died, but most of the others are in a stable condition.
