Kim Yong-nam, president of the DPRK's Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, has arrived in Uganda for an official visit.

Shortly after his arrival on Thursday, he was welcomed to the State house by Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni.

The expansion of trade relations between the DPRK and African countries is high on the agenda during Kim Yong-nam's tour.

The second-highest ranking official in the DPRK is expected to meet with Museveni and other Ugandan government officials.

He is also scheduled to tour the source of the Nile before his departure. Kim started his African tour in Namibia last week.
