Premier Wen calls for greater co-op with Malawi

Premier Wen Jiabao has met with Malawian President Bingu Wa Mutha-rika. Both sides have expressed willingness to expand cooperation in all fields.

Premier Wen said developing friendly and cooperative Sino-Malawian relations is in line with the tide of history. He said China will encourage enterprises to import more from Malawi, to increase bilateral trade, and to keep trade balanced.

Wen Jiabao welcomed Malawi to join the Forum on Sino-African Cooperation and said he would like to work with Malawi to push forward Sino-African friendship and cooperation.

Mutha-rika said Malawi would like to work with China to set up a cooperation mechanism to promote bilateral cooperation in trade and culture.
