China disagrees with Times´ column

The Foreign Ministry on Tuesday responded to a column published by the British Times newspaper which compares the Beijing Olympics with the Berlin Games in 1936.

The column says the aim of the Beijing Games is the same as the 1936 Olympics held under the rule of Adolf Hitler, which was to show off to the world.

The Foreign Ministry says the Chinese people are sincere about holding a successful Olympics, and that comes with the joint efforts of the whole world.
