The baby polar bear at the Nuremberg zoo has learned to crawl. Flocke is five weeks old and is already half a metre tall. She weighs in at almost 3.9 kg - if she stays still long enough for her keepers to be able to read the scales, that is.

The zoo is hoping Flocke wiill be as famous as her predecessor Knut. Like Knut, who now weighs in at a hefty 100 kg, the new baby bear was separated from her mother after officials at the Nuremberg zoo became concerned that she might harm the cub.

Now four keepers at the zoo are taking care of Flocke, who still needs to feed about every three hours.
