Heavy snow covers northeastern China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Heilongjiang Province. It's affecting flights and expressways.

In Inner Mongolia, the cold weather means strong winds and a drop in temperature of over 10 degrees Celsius. Some areas report a low of minus 30 degrees. Domestic and international flights were delayed and several expressways closed. An emergency plan was launched to deal with transportation problems.

Heilongjiang saw its heaviest snowfall of the season Friday night. The province's southeastern city of Suifenhe reports 20 centimeters of snow, and it is expected to reach 30. Local governments and residents are working hard to remove snow to keep roads clean and safe.
