Premier Wen Jiabao has concluded his four nation tour and returned to Beijing. In Moscow, the premier signed agreements with his Russian counterpart Viktor Zubkov, and attended the closing ceremony for the Year of China in Russia program.
The two prime ministers discussed expanding areas of cooperation.
Wen Jiabao said 2007 marks the beginning of a new decade for the two-way partnership. Wen said the Sino-Russian relationship should be stepped up and interactions should be made concrete.
Viktor Zubkov proposed the establishment of mechanisms to ensure long-term, stable coordination.
The two premiers agreed more efforts will be made in several areas, improving trade standards, regularizing trade structure, launching major aviation industry projects, energy cooperation, joint research and development in science and technology and conserving water resources as well as increasing exchanges in education, culture, public health, tourism and sports.
The two leaders attended the closing ceremony for the Year of China in Russia, marking the end of the reciprocal China-Russia theme years.
Wen Jiabao said the program enhanced understanding between the two peoples and the spirit of friendship will carry on.
Wen Jiabao also met with Russian parliament members. He said the Sino-Russian partnership will be promoted for generations to come. Russian legislators said two-way ties should be maintained despite changes in their parliament.
Wen Jiabao began his four nation tour on Friday. He has visited Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Belarus as well as Russia.
