Counterplan for quality emergencies

China's top quality watchdog is drafting a plan that will offer a prompt and effective response to emergencies arising from poor-quality products.

Different situations will be rated according to the degree of their impact. with four categories spanning mild to very

severe and color-coded accordingly. The draft also calls for quality supervision departments at all levels to release an initial report within two hours of the first confirmation of an emergency situation. The watchdog is also warning against any delays or cover-ups with threats of administrative or legal punishment.
