Tropical storm Toraji lands on S. China, no casualties reported

Tropical storm Toraji has landed on south China bringing torrential rain to the area. No casualties have been reported.

Thursday's storm is the third tropical storm to hit China this year reaching the coastal counties of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region with winds of up to 80 kilometers per hour. The strong winds have triggered tidal waves off the coast of south China.

Hainan Island has also suffered torrential rain. The local weather bureau says Toraji is expected to downgrade by Friday.
