Tornado kills 14, injures about 150 in east China

A tornado has killed 14 people and injured nearly 150 others in two provinces in eastern China.

The tornado swept across a dozen cities and villages in Anhui and neighboring Jiangsu province on Tuesday, destroying hundreds of homes and forcing more than 500 people to evacuate. The winds at the center of the tornado reached speeds of 100 kilometers per hour.

Emergency aid is being sent to the region. About 50 of the injured are still in serious condition.
